Hogmanay 2020

In the Scottish tradition, we don’t wish people Happy New Year until it arrives, ie after midnight. If we do greet anyone before that, we say, “Happy New Year to you β€” when it comes.” New Year’s Eve is called Hogmanay in Scotland.

I’m sending you links to a beautiful, haunting three-part video made in Scotland using drones. It’s called Farewell β€” or in the Scottish version, Fare Thee Weel. It’s a special goodbye to this particular auld year.

Here is the beautiful and haunting Part 2

Part 3

  1. Hi Helen It’s now 2021so we’ll ‘tak a cup o kindness’ and wish you and all our pals in Buenos Aires a Happy New Year. Janette and Marco

    • Thanks Janette β€” Igualmente! We hope to see you back here sometime in 2021 β€” we miss you both!

  2. Spectacular! The verbal content, the delivery and the music, made me at times, forget the drones (which were also spectacular). It was very moving. Gracias for posting 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
