Follow up to previous post

I received two emails this morning about my post re a message purporting to be from Dr. Bonnie Henry. One simply asked for my source, while the other said the message had been debunked. He said Dr. Henry said in a Vancouver news report that she did not write this and didn’t know anything about it.

So far, I haven’t been able to find this news report, and if anyone can point me to it I’d be happy to check it out.

If I find this message is, in fact, a fraudulent one, I will remove it.

  1. I have not been able to find an article from Dr. Henry stating she did not make this list, but I have found this was widely circulated as early as May and was attributed to a Dr. Younus from Maryland. It would seem Dr. Younus has a series of tweets debunking myths about COVID-19 but I can’t find anywhere where he has published this list word for word:

The best I can tell is that Dr. Younus has written articles and tweets that cover some points in this list, and someone has made it into a list format, which i think happened at the link above and it has been circulated since then around indian and guyanese blogs and is now being attributed to Dr. Henry and circulated on facebook

The list contains a lot of half truths and isn’t fully accurate. It may be best to go to the website of your local public health unit and copy their recommendations rather than this list that no one is quite able to pin down to source and attribute.

    • Thanks Zoe. I thought I had done my due diligence, but obviously not enough, so I’m going to take the post down. Thanks for your help.
