A cacerolazo is a very Argentine form of protest, and last night one took place to protest the government releasing certain prisoners because of the coronavirus. Here’s what it looked and sounded like from my balcony.
We applaud for first responders. The Cacerolazo is a longstanding tradition as a form of protest. When there’s no lockdown it can be a nightmare because it snarls traffic across the city.
They were at it again last night protesting at 8pm. At 9pm in Argentina we clap and cheer for the first responders.
Hard to say, Sharon. I haven’t seen details of specific prisoner releases. The government says it has no control over this as it is in the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court.
We bang pots here, to honour First Responders!

I think it was even louder last night, Venetia.
Any reaction form the government or do they plan to wait till one or more of them revert to kind and commit another crime?
